Notice: Pala Rolls Out PBMI Emergency Alert System
PBMI Emergency Alert System
The Pala Environmental Department (PED) recently received a grant to fund a new phone-based community emergency alert system. Working with AlertMedia, PED has established an opt-in system for members of the Pala community to receive text messages, automated phone calls, or e-mails when there is an emergency or potentially hazardous situation on or near the reservation.
For example, alerts might be sent for wildfire, dangerously high temperatures, unhealthy air quality, or even traffic accidents that have blocked roads. The alerts will describe what is happening and include a link to more information, if necessary.
Sign Up for Alerts
PED is encouraging everyone who lives in Pala to sign up for these alerts to receive texts, calls, emails, or all three. We hope we don’t have to use the PBMI Emergency Alert System very often, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. Sign up now and help us keep Pala safe and informed.
Download AlertMedia App
Once you have signed up, you can also download the AlertMedia app in the Google Play or Apple App Store, as another way to receive alerts and stay up to date about any emergencies happening in Pala.
