Pala Environmental Department Director Shasta Gaughen was featured as a guest on the April 7, 2021 episode Drought Impacts on Mental Health of the Come Rain or Shine podcast produced by the USDA Southwest Climate Hub and the DOI Southwest Climate Adaptation Science Center. Dr. Gaughen spoke about how climate change is increasing the severity of droughts and how drought stress impacts mental health in Tribal communities.
