Tribal Climate & Health Adaptation
Understanding and addressing your Tribes’ most pressing climate and health vulnerabilities can require an overwhelming amount of leg work and technical know-how. If you’re like most Tribal professionals in CA, you’re encouraged about new opportunities to make progress on Tribal climate adaptation and resilience efforts but are feeling busier than ever!
The Pala Band of Mission Indians’ Tribal Climate Health Project (TCHP) invites California Tribal-serving professionals working in climate resilience to join us for a learning and input opportunity that will be worth an hour and a half of your time!
At this webinar, we will share the results of recent BIA-funded work aimed at making it easier for Tribes to access useful data to inform decisions about climate and health resilience and adaptation. This webinar will also feature speakers from several of our partner State agencies that will share resources and other offerings designed to support your climate and health adaptation initiatives. See a draft agenda below:
- TCHP Training on Accessing Tribal Resilience Data
- CA Office of Environmental Health Hazards Assessment (OEHHA): Wildfire Tool feedback
- CA Department of Public Health: Heat Data
- Governor’s Office of Planning and Research: Climate Services
- Strategic Growth Council: Community Resilience Centers Grants + Tribal Capacity Building Programs
Attendees will be introduced to various tools and other resources to assist with efficient fact-finding and other tribal adaptation needs, including a simple protocol for requesting data on climate-relevant indicators from our project partners at the California Tribal Epidemiology Center.
Spaces are limited, so register ASAP.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
