Tina Fernandez

Environmental Educator

Tina Fernandez is the Environmental Educator for the Pala Band of Mission Indians and has worked in the Pala Environmental Department since 2021.

Tina is responsible for overseeing and implementing educational outreach in Pala and beyond. She understands the concepts behind environmental issues and can communicate them to various age groups.

Tina’s tasks include developing and adapting lesson plans, working closely with local schools and youth programs, collaborating with external organizations, and participating in other tribal education and environmental programs. She supports collaborative events, trainings, and workshops. Tina’s other responsibilities include assisting with compiling and disseminating information on climate change, natural resource conservation, and other topics.   

Various state and federal grants fund the projects she works on.
