Alexis Wallick is the Environmental Specialist for the Pala Band of Mission Indians and has worked in the Pala Environmental Department since 2009.

Alexis oversees solid waste issues, including household hazardous waste (HHW), recycling, and composting. She works closely with the Pala Transfer Station to build and develop new programs. She also serves as PED’s licensed drone pilot.

Alexis’ tasks include but are not limited to operating and maintaining the drone program, including keeping up to date with FAA laws and regulations; scheduling HHW collection events and advertising them to the community; updating the community on changes to policies and procedures of the Pala Transfer Station; providing grant financial management assistance, ensuring that grant reporting requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner; writing or assisting with writing quarterly and annual grant reports; working with other PED staff to provide support and backup for water, air, solid waste, environmental education, climate change, and other existing or future programs; and assisting with technical tasks such as water and air quality monitoring and environmental inspections for tribal departments and community members.

The programs Alexis works on are funded through various state and federal grants.
